Most of this is a discussion of the Scottish Psalter of 1650 (which you can actually still buy from Trinitarian Bible Society), but I go off on a few related tangents.

Have you ever listened to Jars Of Clay their CD Redemption Songs, they took old worship songs and gave them a very unique sound .
Usually bands destroy old songs when they do that but, I really love that CD its blessed me so much.
My wife loves old hymns her parents and grandparents were old time Pentecostal preachers.
