Thanks for tuning in everyone - hope you're all doing well and staying indoors for the time being.

Quick corrections:
- DOOM 3 released on PC first, and was then ported to the ORIGINAL Xbox in 2005 (not the xbox360).
-Wolfenstein released in 92 not 91. They started working on Wolfenstein 3D in 91 I believe.

Stay tuned for more documentaries along with full coverage for DOOM Eternal coming soon!

My favorite part about Doom as a kid was getting the enemies to fight each other if they accidentally hit each other. you could get little mini-wars to play out and it was absolutely hilarious. Had never seen anything like it before

I remember playing Doom 2 back in the mid 90's right before going on a family vacation. The only think I could think about while on vacation was getting back home to play Doom 2

I've discovered DOOM in 1994, when I was 15 year old, and it blew my mind, it was unlike any other games I've played before. I've spent hours and hours playing DOOM at night, when the only PC we've had wasn't occupied... What a great time it was.

Seeing that doom 4 was almost a generic cod clone makes me so appreciative of what we got. I'm so glad the recognized what people wanted. And PERFECTLY recaptured the feeling of rip and tear. Seriously doom 2016 and doom eternal are so much fucking fun.

The thing that GOT me into Doom was the story. I read a Doom novel as a kid and loved the story of the Doomguy going deeper into Hell. His descriptions of the horrors, his recognizing of the marines he found in his unit and how some of them turning into zombies fucked with his head, etc. His slow decent into madness, as he became less and less human as he got closer to hell himself. Was fantastic.

I’m one of the few who still love the 2004 Doom, the horror, suspense, slow mechanic ... that game scared the s#*&t out of me and I would love a re-entry to that game mechanic with updated graphics.

One of the most awesome things about your videos is that you find footage of the development process for these games. That's not to say that it's near impossible to find this footage if I were to look, but it's the fact that you make a point to find and show this footage to help tell the story of these franchises. I really enjoy that about your videos.

Every time I think I’ve run out of DooM YouTube documentaries, I come across one more. Thank you.

at 19:07 you say Doom 3 was ported to Xbox 360 in 2005, actually it was an original xbox port making it an even more impressive achievement!

I absolutely loved doom 3, however..though being a horror fanatic, I never finished it. It was too damn nerve wracking. Love the 2016 doom, and as soon as I platinum it, I’ll jump head over heels at the new installment!

I have to applaud you for using the correct aspect ratio in your Doom gameplay footage. It is really irritating to see people demonstrate the game with a stretched status bar and face.

I used to play it at my mum's office in 94-95 when I was finishing college and I still play it from time to time. Kids today look at it derisively at first but get hooked in a matter of minutes!
