Designing with Collection Lists - Webflow CMS tutorial

Webflow's Collection Lists are one of the two ways to add and design dynamic content from a Collection (the other being Collection Pages). You can add Collection Lists to any type of page.

In this video, we'll walk through:

1. Adding a Collection List to your site
2. Adding and connecting elements to Collection fields
3. Collection List settings

Note: We’re transitioning to a new UI, and are in the process of updating our Webflow University content.

Get started with Webflow:

I don't know what's changed but I can't get any CMS content to show at all. Not even the placeholders you see at 0:41

Is it possible to style one collection item in the list differently? For example, in this website, what if we wanted some of the people's cards to have the persons image on the right instead of on the left?

The layout is utterly useless... it's a grid with invisible defaults. Who on earth wants to use your automatic defaults? I seriously hate Webflow sometimes.

can I add a header to the top of a collection that pulls from the CMS collection? like different categories? or are the dynamic options only limited to collection ITEMS, rather than the whole section?

I have a template with a pre-built structure - How do I link the CMS to the posts in one go - when I drag the CMS collection list it forms its own grid. What to do?

I want to use a Collection List as a Table of Contents.
I'd like the position of the Collection List to stay fixed on the screen as I scroll the rest of the page.
However, my collection list is almost certain to be taller than the viewport, so it needs to be able to be manually scrolled. How can I achieve this?

how do we control the column count on each breakpoint? I have it set to 3 but I want it to switch to 2 col on tablet and 1 col on phone. There seems to be NO breakpoint control for layout!

why does my collection list overlap the next section if a new line of items is added instead of pushing it?

I'm having an issue with figuring out how to how to display content. For example, I have a list of services on the home page, 4 services, when I click it takes me to the services page. Which allows you to sort through the description of the 4 services. The issue I am having with the collection is that one service only has 4 bullet points in a section. Where as another has 8 bullet points. When this is displayed, the service that only has 4 shows the other 4 empty bullet points because it is populated from the collection with the 8 bullets, even though there is no data to display from the other bullets. Is there a way to address this? I don't want to type the data in manually, but I also don't want empty data showing like empty bullet points and I am looking for a solution if you can point me to it.

I can't figure out a way to custom sort the collection items in a grid - I see the tutorial explains how to use the default sorting options like A-Z or most recently updated, but can I not drag and place them where I want, or set a z index somehow?
