Wow. Who makes a perfect metaphor for a toxic relationship in three minutes? I could've gathered this much from the song lyrics if I read into it (and paired it with the overall anxious tone of the song), but combined with the music video it really sells that theme. How much promise the relationship has. How they're obsessed with each other, for good or ill. How the hair really does believe there's 'nobody else but you and me, ' and so takes Lubalin's establishment of boundaries as a betrayal. And how you can even see, from how Lubalin immediately proceeded to treat the hair like his only friend and spend all of his time partying with it, why the hair would see the relationship that way. Even the vocal chopping in the chorus sounds like panicked arguing or explaining, to me, from either or both parties.

What KILLS me is the scene where the hair catches fire. How Lubalin's immediate reaction is shock and horror, and he goes to grab the extinguisher. And then you can _see on his face_ the transition from fear into hate. And he lets the hair burn, because he knows there's been too much damage done to save the friendship. But the last expression we get from him in that scene isn't hate, it's this mix of grief and exhaustion. That friend is lost to him now. Permanently. It all just drained so much from him emotionally, and. For what?

Not that I'm speaking from experience and oversharing that trauma to strangers on the internet, course not....

The choice to use a wig with a baby hand as your comedic foil felt a little forced at first, but as the relationship developed, it became clear that it was all character building.

The hair with a baby hand was the real star along. Their mysterious visage lulled me into a false sense of trust that hid its underhanded machinations, so the heel turn felt like real betrayal. I truly felt for Bald Lubalin's predicament and the difficulty of getting out of an abusive relationship.

Outstanding concept, soundtrack, and cinematography. Better than most films and way more efficient.
