On Saturday 29 March 2025, the Moon will pass across the disc of the Sun to cause a partial solar eclipse visible from the UK. The moon is set to cover up to 40% of the Sun.

Watch a live shot from the Royal Observatory in Greenwich.

It's expected to be visible in the UK from 9.56am to 12.14pm on Saturday 29 March.

For people in the south of England - where the weather means views should be best - the peak of the eclipse is set to be at around 11.03am.

This is when the eclipse reaches its "maximum" - the moment when the greatest portion of the sun is hidden

I had an ENT appointment this morning, I had an endoscope up my nose and down to my throat, it was uncomfortable lol. But I managed to see it still after my appointment at the clinic. It went slightly dark and that’s about it. I had a funny feeling that I was gonna miss it lol even though it’s only a small partial eclipse.

I don't know why they are showing it go across the bottom in the UK, it went across from top right, starting on the opposite side to sun spot.

There will be a “watching eclipse” tax on your paystub this week however.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
