The bow was snapped sometime at the end of the Stone Age, approx. It appeared 15, 000-20, 000 years ago to help Ice Age hunters hunt prey. Its popularity is experiencing a new renaissance even today. Fun fact about bronze: when bronze oxidizes, as in rusts, the oxides form a protective layer around the bronze that prevents it from further oxidation. Iron does not do this. Iron will rust away to nothing if given the chance. This means that bronze blades from thousands of years ago are likely so well preserved because of this that they're still sharp enough to be used for their intended purpose without any restoration of any kind.
