My son has one of these — two children, dog, many buggies and child seats — and he loves it.

Do I want or have any real interest in a C5 Aircross? No.
Will I watch Mark review one? Absolutely.

The back seats slide backwards and forewords but take out the boot leveler behind the seats and they go back even further and they recline to .The drivers seat is height adjustable with the electric controls on the right hand side of the seat, the wheel is rake and reach adjustable what with the seat moving as well there is plenty of adjustment available. im an old skool citroen fan with proper suspension but this is growing on me every day, im not used to being able to afford to pay a lot for a car and the oppertunity came up to buy a 3 year old 1.5 diesel C5 Aircross flair, the stereo could do with being a bit louder, the citroen redesigned the shocks to work like hyfraulic suspension, they look like standard shocks and the ride is amazing its almost as good as a hydraulic suspension car just a little firmer snd with much less body roll on corners, it rides over pot holes with its large wheels and you hardly notice them at all. ive got back issues and I dont want to get out of the car when I get home its sooo comfortable, mines even got a sport button in the diesel it stretches the gear changes holding it in gear for longer increasing the revs.

for a 1.5 diesel hdi turbo its not lacking in power for towing either, the half leather seats are very well made and very comfortable. The peugeot 3008 has the same engine made by the same company so why pay more for a peugeot that will be far less comfortable on the roads? the 1.5 diesel hdi turbo citroen Automatic does between 56 and 60 mpg on a run and a respectable 45 mpg around town in eco mode. if you buy a used one get one with the two piece parcel shelf or you will need to pay £300 plus vat for a new one from the citroen main stealers, there does not seem to be any used ones on the market anywhere. oil change, filter and service and replacing front break pads for winter at my independant came to £89.00. the auto gearbox service interval is 4 years or 60k whichever is soonest and costs around £140 at an automatic specialists or your independant may be cheaper.

the gear fluid is expensive for automatics but this is a proper 8 speed smooth change syncromesch gearbox not your snappy wear out in 8 years time dry dual clutch affair that renault and Dacia fit in their cars and cost a mint to replace becuase your paying for two clutches in one and a dual mass flywheel regardless of wether or not its an automatic, a syncromesch auto doesnt have a dual mass flywheel saving a considerable amount of engine weight and the gearbox should never need to come out for a clutch cange because it doesnt have a dry dual clutch in it. the only thing that really annoys me about it is very minor, if something falls off the passenger seat into the front footwell I cant get to it without getting out and goin g around to open the door, the dam armrest in the centre consul is so big it gets in the way . other than that is a very nice car and reasonably cheap to run.

on point. these days it is pretty hard to find the right car for daily business, one is better, another looks nicer, another has better gearbox ant etc. but in the of the day you have to put your family somewhere and go with those people together and here you find a comfortable suv citroen or preferably peugeot.

I asked the genie for a magic carpet, but it was an S-line version and it rode like, and I quote The Sun, 'unacceptable'. I wanted the S-Class magic carpet, but ended up being a waste of a wish. So, if you're a 5"3-5"5 (woman), this is a top family car

Nice review. I would say though that built in Sat Navs have one advantage over Smartphones and that's if you go through an area without 4G. I was driving through Devon using Waze when we hit an area without 4G (and there are lots I found where we were) and after a while we lost the route. I don't know if it was trying to re-plan but the route just went and it can't plan without a 4G connection. You can still see the map of course but no guidance.Switching to the cars built in Sat Nav fixed the problem.

How come you still can’t get LED headlights on ANY model of C5 Aircross in right-hand-drive markets like the UK, even as an option like you can in left-hand-drive markets?

Here in the UK, we have to make do with old-fashioned halogen headlights like on an old Rover Metro - welcome to the 1990’s!

While I agree on the over focusing on changin temp with a touch screen (I change temp in my car about two times a year) I do hate what Citroen does with their buttons and infotainment. Vivid memory of me on a highway in such small French rental car pressing the wrong button out of a thousand buttons on a stick hidden behind the wheel and a lady starting to shout at me in Italian.

I had the same headspace problem in a rented Renault kadjar. It too had a panaramic sunshine roof and with the seat as low as could go my head would either hit the rim of the sunroof or if I moved further forward to stop hitting it, I'd end up headbutting the sun visors. Canny review mind.

The 3008... was that a Mansory edition? Or just a facelift?
