How to remove the vertical white line moving to and fro on your AOC screen

I broke my monitor more than 3 years ago (the right-most side of the screen), and I thought the line was just a NEW (I've had it for a few months) symptom of the damage (since the affected area changes from time to time). Great result thank you. Mine was complicated by the fact that the OSD (menu) was locked. You release it by turning the screen off. Hold the menu button whilst it is off and turn the screen back on (still holding the menu button) and presto - unlocked. You can then carry out the reset.

I had a huge white stripe/block on my screen everytime the affected area showed blacks, weirdly having the monitor on RTS gaming mode solved the issue but that mode makes everything a bit more saturated (good on some stuff, bad on other stuff), this also worked perfectly! thank you so much.
