Best Part: 3:18 to 4:21 - Score: 8.5/10

To kick off this weekend, let's take a trip 20 years back and listen to the last album Chuck Schuldiner composed in 1999 with the band Control Denied. The band consisting of almost all the members from the last Death album "The Sound of Perseverance" is playing solid Progressive Heavy Metal. I can say its in the same vein than TSOP, the logical evolution, except we have Tim Aymar on vocals instead of the master Schuldiner himself.

At the time, Chuck was bored with his own vocal and, in fact, he never loves it at all but surely I love it. Anyway, on this record, Aymar is doing a very good job with his fierce vocal, he has a lot of versatility . "Expect the Unexpected" contains many great riffs, outstanding tricky drumming by Richard Christy as usual, excellent bass lines by Steve Di Gorgio and great chorus. Indeed, we also have good lead guitar and 2 pretty good guitar solos especially the second one by M. Schuldiner.

Overall, its a good album, not as great as the "Death" standard but definitely a record you want to give few spins.
