I hadn't realized it when I watched the video, but the incident depicted with a Vulcan being intercepted by Brazilian F-5Es actually happened. One of the Vulcans' refueling probes broke when it didn't have enough fuel to get back to Ascension Island, leaving it with no option but to divert to Rio de Janeiro. XM597 is the actual Vulcan that this happened to, so the markings in that video are correct.

Brazil actually wanted to keep the Vulcan (which a neutral nation is entitled to do with interned vehicles), but Britain sold them Lynx helicopters as part of a deal to get the bomber back. Brazil did however keep the one AGM-45 Shrike missile that the Vulcan crew had been unable to dump at sea (apparently it just wouldn't release from the pylon). The US having provided Shrikes for Britain to use in the Falklands War was top secret at the time, so this was a bit of an embarrasment.

I hope we get a playable Vulcan. my absolute favorite British aircraft. that'd be cool af. also... that's a Blackhawk. it's obviously a variant, but it's the UH-60 base.

"wings that protect the country" is (or was idk if they use it anymore) the slogan for the brazilian air force, so the title is based on this. the video was released on 7/sept (yesterday) which is our independence day

It's hard to believe we don't have the Vulcan or any V bombers at this point. Larger maps with objectives more spread out could help bomber play. I would love to finally get submarines and working aircraft carriers. I'm a naval aviation veteran and would love to be able to fly from carriers on the maps next to oceans.

I went to an air show and saw the last flight of the Vulcan when I was 7 I didn't really understand how important it was back then but the sound was incredible

Bombers (and frankly also Attackers) are a huge area of untapped potential in the Air RB mode. Currently the win conditions for the mode do not support either bombers or attackers, because of "no players left on enemy team" being a win condition.

Bombers and attackers, being fundamentally PvE planes, cannot ever fit in a mode where the PvP win condition can render PvE contributions irrelevant.

EC can solve this, but the normal Air RB mode could also be adapted too. The biggest change needed is to remove the win condition for PvP, so that PvE planes and multirole fighters have a purpose even after air superiority is secured.

just saying we got the tease of the exocet in the argentine video, the submarines in the data mines and now a u boat in this teaser and all nations now have costal fleets. And there was a naval catalina in the battle pass

All of the V-bombers were high altitude bombers. There was a low altitude version of the Valiant, but it was rejected. When the Soviets developed SAMs that could reach high altitude, that pretty much killed high altitude bombing doctrine. The only V-Bomber that could handle low altitude high speed stress was the Vulcan. Most Victors were transformed into re-fuelers.

Vulcan had loads of flares and chaff also rwr and 2 types of band jammers so would be okay I wouldn’t put it any higher than 10.3 in game because it has no offensive weapons and it didn’t go supersonic its main gain is altitude the climb rate etc

Fun fact when the vulcan land on brazilian airport the The British asked to return the Vulcan and the pilots and days later the Vulcan and the pilots returned home but there was a missile that the Vulcan was carrying that was confiscated and the Brazilians never returned it
