To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2019, ABC Music is proud to present DEADLY HEARTS 2 - a celebration of music, culture, and identity, from the hearts of the new generation of Indigenous Australia.

The call to artists; “What song has spoken strongest to you about growing up an Indigenous Australian?”

The response; ten incredible new renditions from this country’s deadliest and most inspiring young musicians, taking us on a sonic journey through the foundations of their musical inspiration, and the songs that have helped shape their Indigenous identity and culture.

Zaachariaha chose the song, saying: “I grew up listening to Lajamanu Teenage Band – their music was part of the soundtrack of my childhood.”

yaw, deadly gangoos, this song hit my soul, the only spiritual song bought to tears for my darling I lost many moons ago, but I love it at same time, power flowing through me for my darling make her appear sometimes, I had to move towns and into another tribes territory but we was accepted there and stayed but my darling tried to steal a car and come up north but they was chased by manarj n rolled it and she died trying to get to me, so this song for her, thank you for making it lamanaju
