I dated someone that said I love you nonstop. It was so smothering. I expressed my love don’t get me wrong on that. But my goodness, stop saying it so freaking much.

it def can get worn out, right now after years of dating i dont even feel i need to say it. It is used way too much, yes by men . And myself i find it annoying because it feels like if i dont say it on daily basis or X amount of times per day he gets odd. I have explained this to him and he still doesn't get it when i dont say it back. Its a personal boundary

you can say [I love you] as much as you want. but action and results must go along with those words. if not, it just feels like a scam to me.
