tanzania is oe of the easiest countries to travel in africa, if you think tanzania is bad, lol, definitely dont goto mozambique or malawai or zimbabwe burundi or west africa. tanzania, rwanda and kenya are very easy to travel and quite a relief after traveling the southern african countries for the past 7 months all on public buses.

You are truly brave, Kaja, for not letting that situation ruin your rest of the journey but most importantly, for sharing it with us. I hope you continue to explore all the places you are visiting, and be safe.

Traveling solo is definitely intimidating but its so liberating. I went on my first solo trip to Seattle a few weeks ago and it was one of the best experiences despite being so anxious!!

Bought tickets to Dar es Salaam. Will backpacking for several weeks. Have no idea what to expect, a little scared too. I wanted to go somewhere tropical, but off the beaten track. So will be marathoning your vids.

The touts in Tanzania can be extremely annoying. Probably the most annoying I've experienced. Once in Stonetown we had to walk over a kilometer to shake off a persistent tout who wanted to "help" us with whatever we where buying. In Arusha, then being just me alone, I was surrounded by a small crowd of them on arrival in the bus station that I had to get away from somehow. Beside this, Tanzania is a fantastic country in many ways!

Please be careful and take care of yourself. 🙏 Thank you for telling me this; I'm currently traveling internationally too. I have found a lot of discrimination and abuse directed at women traveling solo. If I had a guy with me, I wouldn't have had the shitty things that happened to me "happen" . . . namely Italy. I'll *never* go back to Italy. I had no problems with misogyny in England, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina (a little bit in the south; namely Trebinje), Croatia, Serbia or now, Albania. 😉

It would be better to have a guide and take sometime to learn about local people cultures and Traditions, instead of travelling blindly to a place. And am telling you this, TANZANIA one of the few African countries where locals have respect for foreigners.
Ps: Do not directly record people in the streets, we don't like thag

There are pushy people in every single corner of the globe. Good, and bad people are everywhere, luckily there are usually more good than bad people wherever you go.

I was born and lived in Dar. Bagamoyo was just a village with Arab graves, AND a big baobab with 2 links of a chain; this is where the slaves were held;; by now, the kinks qbsorbed into the tree. NO build9ngs in 1060. Qua heri, sasa, rafiki!

Not sure why you’re getting so much backlash for this… you’re sharing your experience which was undoubtedly unpleasant at times but with the honesty of the good points too.
