Here’s what you can expect on our Best of the Amalfi Coast tour: Upon your arrival at the Naples airport, you will be picked up by a private chauffeur and whisked off to our Naples hotel on the waterfront. We'll have a first chance to get acquainted over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Then, it's off to dinner at our favorite Naples restaurant! The next day, we'll tour the archeological museum in Naples where many of Pompeii's fragile treasures have been preserved, eat a real Neapolitan pizza, and tour Naples underground where you can see the levels of history from the ancient world to modern times.

Then we'll head south to the sunny city of Sorrento. After checking in to our lovely boutique hotel in historic Sorrento, you will have time to wander the cobblestone streets before meeting up for an introduction to Amalfi Coast wines and local food tastings.

While we're based in Sorrento, you'll experience a privately guided tour of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. Then, our adventures will take us over the mountain to the hill town of Ravello where Richard Wagner was inspired to write his most famous opera. Even if you've traveled far and wide: there is nothing that compares with the views from Ravello!

We'll visit the amazing gardens of Villa Cimbrone with their meandering paths and their fabulous statuary offset against the sparkling blue of the ocean below. You'll have a chance to explore Ravello's lovely side streets and shop for pottery or relax by the hotel pool and enjoy the scenery. We'll have a private hands-on cooking class, and then sit down to eat the fruits of our labors. And we'll visit an award-winning organic winery in the nearby hills of the Monti Lattari nature reserve. Before our paired-tasting lunch, we'll walk through their vineyards where the 100-year-old autochthonous vines grow along the arbors and the grapes hang down from overhead!

For the final portion of our trip, we'll be based in Positano, also known as "the vertical city." You'll see why when you look at the colorful houses perched one on top of another, cascading down the impossibly steep cliffs all the way to the sea. Our top-rated hotel is located right on the beach: grab an oversized towel at the front desk and you can be splashing in the surf in less than a minute. Your room will look out onto the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Positano will also be our base for exploring the delights of the nearby Isle of Capri. We'll hop the ferry to spend a full day on the fabulous island where the goddess Venus first stepped out of the sea. Our day in Capri will include an unforgettable trip on a private boat around the entire island.
