I have two questions dear Justin

1/ Can we resize video windows on the canvas and also crop them as we do in observation. OBS allows resizing of video windows and also cropping.

2/ Can we use any other app to change the scenes without using the mouse or keyboard. Apps like Touch Portal let you do that on OBS and it comes in very handy for those who can't afford buying stream deck.

I am not referring to the picture and picture mode though. That also shows the desktop. I am talking about adding a video window on the canvas and resizing and cropping it for both camera source and media source.

Went with Ecamm Live yesterday. much better than OBS on my 2015 MacBook Pro with Catalina recent update. After 50 or 60 tries with all the different settings in OBS I gave up- dropped frames like crazy, horrible video quality, had to download an extra software piece to actually incorporate desktop audio which required constant switching to and from settings in the audio settings, constantly had to add the stream url and key (but not in stream labs obs thank goodness), CPU was bumping up to 60%, Mac was overheating. OBS is a mess. Got Ecamm Live working well within 5 minutes, it has a simple one button checkbox for bringing in desktop audio, I can brand my streams, use special backgrounds, do interviews....Thanks for this review, never would have heard of Ecamm Live.

QUESTION: does anyone else have crashing issues with OBS and Catilina? I want to use it but it's crashing randomly.

Luckily I found this video. I was about to wipe my MAC because I'm having a lot of problems with OBS encoding, all the time getting warnings when my CPU is only working at 30% (and I couldn't believe that was happening with a 5k Imac). So I'm going to give a chance to Ecamm and Wirecast. If I have to pay but it works then I'm fine. I spent a lot of hours testing OBS and trying to understand what's the problem.

I have been a user of Wirecast Pro for 18 months. It has everything I need for recording or live streaming. OBS would be my second choice. Thanks for the breakdown, but I’ll stick to Wirecast as I have it hooked up to my Elgato Stream Deck. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
