Road Signs Systems in the UK:
There are three main shapes of Signs in the UK and these are a Circle giving orders, Triangle giving warnings and a Rectangle giving information and direction.
The Circle has two types:
One is red ring circle and the other is blue circle. The red ring circle gives orders which you MUST NOT DO, and the blue circle gives orders which you MUST DO.
The rectangle shapes has tree types: One is blue which gives information or directions on Motorways, 2nd one is green which gives directions on primary routes or A routes, and the 3rd one is white which gives directions on non-primary routes which basically means giving local directions.
There are few exceptions and amongst them there are two which are used the most. One is a stop sign which is an octagon shape and the other is a give way sign which is a triangle upside down pointing down which is different from a warning sign. A triangle warning sign is pointing up triangle and a giveaway sign is pointing down triangle.
Make sure you learn the basics and the systems of road Signs. I highly recommend for all learners to buy few books on driving and gain more knowledge as possible on the road so then you become safe and keep others safe on the road.
