Phillip Sear plays a 1965 published piano version of the famous dance from the 1964 comedy film 'Zorba the Greek'.

A viewer asked me to play this a day after the sad death of the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis (1925-2021) was announced. He needs no introduction from me here, but he did remarkably well to live to 96, given the imprisonments and other hardships in his life. Per IMDB, in the film "An uptight English writer travelling to Crete, on a matter of business, finds his life changed forever when he meets the gregarious Alexis Zorba."

My thumbnail shows a colourized detail from an iconic still from the film.

You’re a legend! I’ve been subscribed to you for a while after hearing you play murmuring brook and les sylphes. This is very honoring to Mikis Theodorakis, especially after his recent passing and as a Greek I’ve listened to him since I was a child. Thank you!
