Funnily enough the rock and ice Pikmin could probably be various sizes because they technically come from a parasitic type of Pikmin, which rooted themselves into rocks and ice

I like to imagine that each big pikmin can carry 10x the weight so that means purples could carry 100x

The way rock pikmin work is the pikpik seed infect a rock instead of growing on its own, resulting in a rock pikmim. Hence the existence of a boulder pikmin

I genuinely want to see this be a mechanic in the next pikmin game, having a nectar that super sizes one pikmin, and only they can do certain things not even a bunch of small pikmin can do, and do some things better. The cavoite being that you can't throw only push them, and they can't go everywhere you can.

Imagine if this is the gimmick of Pikmin 5.

Giant Pikmin that can do everything their smaller counterparts can do but better and sometimes worse (imagine a giant yellow carrying several bomb rocks, but without the high throw or a blue pikmin that basically acts as a boat).
