Thanks for this video and the important information. Africans like every people, either in Asia or Europe have been fighting amongst themselves since time and there was no time before Arabs and Europeans cameto the scene they were "Selling"themselves. Africans were practising Pawn-system of servitude.. Africans, then and now are not connected by skin color but ethnicity, language, spirituality and geography. Africans don't see themselves as black peoples. Blackness is what what outsiders saw. And no Pan-Africanism or religion, like Europe with Christianity or with the Arabs- Islam to put them together. There were ethnic spiritualities.Each ethnicity or Tribes doing thing. All wars during slave trade either with Arabs or Europeans were orchestrated by them. The Arabs used cultural, religious differences while Europeans used cultural, religious and skin colors to perpetuate the enslavement and justification. Europeans were trading with Africans before America was discovered. Before then human cargo were not part it. All dungeons in Ghana were converted to dungeons when Europeans shifted their interest from gold, Ivory, animal skin, tropical fruits to Human cargo. Each Ethnicity or Tribes were simply protecting their people. Unfortunately, those protectors were captured as prisoners of wars.Before Europeans came to the scene prisoners war were not treated like animals or stripped of every human. Prisoners of war before Europeans came with the business proportion of selling could marry, kept name, could rise to position of leadership and not different from ordinary people. During the Songhai empire, Empror Sundiata was prisoner of war who became king. Africans never practiced Chattel slavery.
