Hi, usually the whistle is just tied to a loop. I undid mine (on another Salomon vest) and reattached it somewhere else on the pack (so no need to tempt fate...) .

Well, are you still pleased with your best or did you get another one? How well is it holding up? There are so many to choose from it’s overwhelming. I don’t do ultra marathoners so don’t need a lot of water but I do run cani-x and so need to carry water for my dog. His running season is just about over until cooler weather, but am thinking about getting one soon as we are switching to paddle boarding.
