Introduction to Functions by Dr. Vandana Dubey

This video lecture explains the basic properties and definitions of functions in discrete mathematics. A function is a relation where each input from set A (domain) maps to exactly one output in set B (co-domain). The range of a function consists of all possible output values. For a function f:A→B, each element a∈A has a unique image b∈B, denoted by f(a). The vertical line test helps verify if a curve represents a function by checking if any vertical line intersects it more than once.
