Get a collapsible table from Walmart or Lowe's. They fold up to go in a closet but you can cut out without being in the floor. I love mine.

i have been making my own wedding dress and my dream for the skirt is EXACTLY like this, but ive been feeling stumped/intimidated by figuring out measurements and stuff, but i feel so much better seeing our ideas align so thank ahhhh 🥰Thank you for also linking the fabrics, its nice to have more websites for reference, esp for really wide voile
Also, for sewing with pets, i usually either 1) tire them out and trick them out of the room to close the door, 2) put some fabric ive already cut or worked with [current or old project] near where i am about to cut, cause then they sit on it instead of the fabric youre working with[usually most successful for me], 3) give them snacks in a far away location from where you cut fabrics, so while they work on that, you might be able to escape
