Being Australian I am already well familiar with cone shells and blue ringed octopus'. Australian kids are usually educated about animals like this at early ages due to our internationally renowned, deadly environment and wildlife

Fun fact: Octopi, Octopuses, and Octopodes are all _technically_ correct plural terms, it really just depends on who you're talking to. Some believe the term Octopus is Greek in origin, others believe it is Latin, and the rest prefer plain English.

I think the pretty rule also refers to frogs. The prettier ones are the ones that you need to watch out for.

Blue-Ringed Octopus, Sting Rays, Stone Fish, Even some Sea Urchins have venomous spines, and the Crown of Thorns Starfish.
They do NOT have the "Step on me Mommy/Daddy" fetish.

Once on Jacksonville beach in Florida I got too close to a Portuguese Man-O-War because I was trying to figure out what the beautiful neon blue plastic looking thing was. I was about to poke it with something when a lady screamed at me to get away, saving me ungodly amounts of pain and possibly worse. I'm forever grateful to this unknown lady.

I think all beach areas should simply have a educational warning board that shows and explains what certain dangerous creatures to avoid

So basically, just dress for the beach in full military gear when visiting tropical places, and don't pick stuff up even if it's pretty, not even a human, they're pretty toxic creatures too... :P

Not only does cone snail venom vary between species, but it also varies between individuals and it can even vary from shot to shot. They can alter their venom like changing socks. It's literally impossible to make an antivenom.

See, the feeling that there's miles of water below me filled with all kinds of monstrous misunderstood creatures straight makes me excited. That's why I love subnautica.

My grandmother did exactly that, and she survived. Though she knew full well that she was picking up a cone snail, and made sure to grab away from the stinging end. She then went home and tossed that thing in an ant hill, and then picked up the shell a week later.
