I feel like a lot of the missing effects aren't complete yet, glass shattering and underwater explosions may still be in dev, part of why they released reforger was to test and refine the new engine tech they've been working on, I think we'll likely see most of the missing visuals when we actually get ARMA 4 if not implemented later on in reforger.

I'm sure that could be improved. But that's why it has been released so all inaccuracies can be found.

Apples to oranges comparison. If you wanna do a fair comparison, find some A3 alpha footage from Stratis circa Jan/Feb 2013 and compare it to Reforger. Showing Tanoa/Post-Apex A3 and compairing to Reforger's alpha is disingenuous. They have clearly stated that effects and destruction are turned off right now because they aren't ready. 80% of what you see in Reforger right now is placeholder assets, animations, and textures. It's a tech demo for Enfusion and that's it.

people really need to take this with a grain of salt, because this is still very in development, meaning a better comparison would be Reforger Early access and Arma 3 Alpha, considering how Arma 3 is pretty much a finished product and Arma reforger is basically an Engine Testbed.

A lot of these effects are just due to it being an engine they’re still building. So don’t worry. Arma 3 was out for what? Over a decade? It didn’t start out with all those great effects. Give it time. Once Arma 4 is out they’ll have the majority of it all working and it’s going to be amazing.

I bought Reforger and it sometimes looks like the toddler version of a big kids toy. It should be kicking its ass in every metric, but it's not. It's not all bad, but I'll gladly stick with Arma 3 for now.

Very funny comparison. On the one hand arma 3 is almost 11 years old and before that in development for years. On the other hand arma 3.5, a development sandbox, which is only supposed to present a new engine, where modders can already deal with the tools. And yet the community seems to think they have to see it as a full game and competitor to arma 3.

2:55 man I hate it when games make it so when you shoot a windshield once it just slaps a decal on it and calls it a day. I love it when games like arma reforger make so you actually have bullet holes in where the shot went. It makes it so much immersive.

What a stupid title. These effects are not engine effects. They are made in an engine for every game. So we have no idea what Arma 4 effects will look like. For Reforger they clearly weren't a huge priority at this point and the game is still in early access.

Bro I wish BSG (tarkov) made a sandbox like Arma style.The shit would be so immersive and the features and map details are insane .This new engine only has nice lighting and reflections that I see.

I've found it weird how they hold weaponry within Reforger, it looks.. scuffed, to say the least.
