Today is the day I prepare myself to go the funeral of the last patriarc of my family. The first man to ever take me fishing as a young buy. A man that treated me and my sisters like his own. My cousin Ray. Those days in the 70's we would spend at his house in the 70's. Picking vegetables out of his garden and him taking us to the country store in the back of his truck. I thank for him being a great man to mean. It's funny how I got in my car this morning and this song came on. Those beautiful days and people are gone now.

Lionel has such a gift with words. When he says "I'm Free Forever" touches my soul.

Always loved the Commodores. This song was one of my favorites. It has new meaning to me today. I am 68 years old, diabetic, trying to lose a little weight. And I LOVE walking. Every day for at least an hour. Outside. Not in a gym. Breathing the fresh air. On a trail. Or in an interesting neighborhood. Walking is SO GOOD for you. Being diabetic it helps me control my weight and blood sugar. Walking outdoors also does wonders for your mental health. So blessed to be able to walk. Love the bright sunshine. Love good music. Love being around positive people. So thankful to God for all these blessings. If you want to feel better, walk. If even for a few minutes a day. God bless you.

Im 61 now, I was a girl when the lyrics touched my soul!

Tripping on the life that I'm living. Life's too short to bother me, World. Give me room to see where I'm going. All I want is to be stone free. Free like the wind that blows, yeah. Mind blowing lyrics. ❤

I cried when I heard this song today...took me back to being a little girl in the 70's growing up in Las Vegas with my mother, father and sister...not a care in the world! Now my father and sister are deceased and my mom is at a nursing home fighting to live...very sad but I will forever treasure my wonderful childhood and all the wonderful soul-stirring music of the 70's! The Commodores were so good:)

EDIT: Thanks for all the kind words! It's now April 2020, my mom passed away last October so I'm truly on my own. Now we have this awful virus that's killing so many of our brothas & sistas. Trying to stay strong and praying for all of us to pull through this:)

Riding my bike in the summer, at 12yrs old ! Watching the neighbors cut their grass, another neighbor washing his car, the older guys playing basketball in the park, and girls eating sno-cones as bbq smoke is in the air. Dogs are barking, and all of us are high on sunshine. 👍🌤️

This band wrote and performed some of the most outstanding music. Deserve a lot more praise than they sometimes receive.

High On Sunshine, High on Life' High on this song and this Good Ol' School Music. You Know, you just got to give thanks unto Almighty God for being raised back in the day of this time and era, when we had inspirational and uplifting music like this!

Yo, even as a guy, hearing this again even makes me feel emotional. It's connected to so many good memories of your youth...

My best friend's uncle managed them. Too many great memories and I even forgot this one until today. Well I guess that I am getting old after all. Best summer job ever, I sold tee shirts, necklaces, and glow rings to crowds on a tour of the south. I'd like to say that I remember all the cities. But I don't ! Rip Benny Ashburn mgr for the Commodores

It makes me tear up listening to this. This music is so untainted. These lyrics “I’m high on sunshine. Take all my blues away. It’s sunny!!!” Simply beautiful.
