Pebble Time Steel is real, all steel, arriving in July

A new all-steel version of Pebble's latest Time watch has fancier straps and an even longer battery life. We take a look hands-on in Barcelona.

Back in spring 2015 I was a 1st gen Pebble Steel user and painfully debating between this and the new Apple Watch for update. This was for sure an attractive watch since it comes with the colored e-ink display and offers a longer battery life, plus its cheaper than the Aluminum Apple Watch (formerly Apple Watch Sport) since it comes with stainless steel. I even backed it on Kickstarter but later I changed my mind and cancelled the order for the Apple Watch (while I still paid $5 to support Pebble for this). While that was a right choice and now I’m using Apple Watch, I still miss Pebble while I’m glad that we have Rebble to keep it alive. To the dreamed watch that I never had lmao

To be honest I have been wearing my original pebble everyday while the moto 360 sits on my desk. One reason is battery life... I love sleeping with the pebble on and using it as an alarm clock.

I like it because it's not just a more expensive steel version, but it adds more features.

The bezel is to big in my opinion, the original pebble steel's bezel was just fine

It's a nice alternative considering the price but as everybody mentioned, the bezel gets in the way of interacting with the apps. Apple knows this and it's no mistake that the apple watch has no bezel and the screen just seems bigger and of higher resolution/higher quality. That said, I would have a pebble time as my "lounge" watch. One I can do sports, house work, etc without worrying about banging it or scratching it.

Are the pebble time steel waterproof like the previous pebble so up to 50 metres?

Only if they could kill that bezel for a larger display! I love the e ink display concept, animations and design and all. But that's one big bezel! Phew! I will wait for the Apple watch for now!

Why don't they sell with the steel band

They should have made the screen bigger. That thick black border around the screen...kills the look of it.

If they can just make the bezel a little bit thinner then it would be perfect.. nevertheless, the idea is awesome. Smartwatch shouldn't replace your phone. This is exactly what a smartwatch should do...

Just got my moto 360 because of the price cut, I got nothing to worry about.... this Pebble looks like a tomogachi. I don't even care if my moto can't answer calls. Lol
