Installing Front TRD Sway Bar on 2016 Toyota Tundra

For ordering this part, the link I provided didn't work anymore so the best thing to do is Google "Front TRD Sway Bar PTR62-0C180"

I just did this tonight after watching you. I've a stock 4WD 18 DC, and now have both front and rear TRD sways. I left my truck on the ground, left the wheels on the ground, easy peasie and I did it alone. To install, after attaching the the links to the bar and torquing them down, I found it easiest to locate both sway bar links in their pockets on the lower control arm, keeps them in place while you push the sway bar up and thread the front bolts in each bushing support bracket, then you can move the link around (used a small pry bar/screwdriver) to line up the bolt and get it started, then ran them in to just snug with a ratchet / socket; then tightened the 4 bolts on the bushing bracket and last I torqued the link bolts at the lower control arm. I did notice a slight improvement in suspension control, I like it but it's not as noticeable as the rear which really was VERY noticeable. I'm running stock coils on KYB shocks, my OEM only lasted around 70K; may go to a stiffer coil eventually, I run heavy cargo alot and also have air bags w cradles. The front tends to bounce a bit when heavy with the bags leveling...

Great video. The torque specs and heads up to torque down the end links before installation was especially helpful.

I just did this tonight (2016 DC SR5) along with the skid plate. It was really helpful to see the process a couple times before starting. I tried last weekend but could not get the endlinks off the stock bar because there's not a good place to grip it and the grease spewed out. The Moog replacements are great and have a place for a wrench to torque the nut (though I'm not sure why there's a left and right endlink). For those asking: the stock sway is decent but with the TRD bar it feels like it on rails (as much as I would think a truck like the Tundra could). I almost want to put some race slicks on it and take it to the autocross track.

Great video and great upgrade. Can’t believe I hesitated to do this. REALLY noticeable improvement, and I don’t detect any increased harshness with 2018 TRD (non Pro). 18” stock wheels. Already had rear TRD sway.

Great video, the only one I found online that showed the sequence to install the bar. Without your help I would have never got it installed! Between the TRD front sway bar and the TRD rear sway bar the truck behaves much better.

Just had mine installed today on my old 2010 CrewMax Platinum. Truck feels more solid and together now.

Good video. Watched many times before I installed mine. Hardest thing was taking off and putting the factory skid plate back on. Can’t justify getting the TRD skid plate yet. I don’t do very much off reading. All your videos are a big help.

Any noticeable difference from the oem to the TRD? Worth the money?

Nice example and thanks for informing people of the torque requirements so important yet so overlooked or totally ignored by some mechanics.
Hope you’re now enjoying a better driving Tundra, because I surely am!
PS: Thanks for the credit, and you got another subscriber!

Hi…. did you notice the difference and was it worth the cost? How did the truck handle? Thanks.

Will this TRD sway bar work on a 2010 4X2 Tundra?

We already have a sway bar installed from the factory, does the red TRD one make that much of a difference in ride ?

I use the same brand Milwaukee cordless given to me FREE by Toyota when purchasing a new Tundra circa 2013. Going to get another impact wrench like you have and the Front Sway bar too. Great tutorial.
