The Army has a $100M recruiting advertising budget. This is not a 'commercial' as it does not offer a product or commercial service. However, it touches upon a very actual situation: gay parents.

The video on the channel of "GoArmy" had an incredible 1:30 (!) ratio for like: dislike! The comments section was turned off for obvious reasons.


An estimated 4 million Americans turn age 18 each year. Of those, the Pentagon estimates about 30 percent can qualify for military service, giving the armed forces 1.2 million men and women to bring on board. But only 180,000 of those 1.2 million are willing and able. That leaves more than 1 million potential recruits on the table.

The Army's job isn't to push gay acceptance. The job of the military is to protect our country... not protect this countries ideals or current political climate. As a U.S. Army veteran... a 100% disabled veteran at that... I will say this commercial was a waste of money as it isn't the Army's job to push this topic.

PLUS... for her to enlist with a college degree tells me she had a terrible recruiter or she didn't score all THAT well on her ASVAB
