‘Community spirit’ the key factor in vaccine rollout

The Menzies Research Centre’s Executive Director Nick Cater says a “great community spirit” is contributing to the low vaccine hesitancy in Australia.

He said that one of the main reasons people are getting the vaccine is out of a sense of community responsibility.

“They want the economy to get back to normal, they want other people around them to feel comforted and safe," Mr Cater told Sky News.

“That’s one of the big things I thinkis underestimated in all this - the community spirit that’s really there that we know as we talk to people all around us.

“People just want to get back to normal”.
