Speaking of Musician's Friend, as of posting this comment they have a couple of hardtail bullet strats on deal. I got the sea foam green a few months ago when it was on deal for the same price of $149 to use as a mod platform. Worth every dime. Far superior build quality vs Sonic. I'm tempted to get another just on general principle. Mine now has a new CV 50s neck, stainless steel block saddles, 3 ply pickguard with new pickup covers, knobs and switch tip. Love it. Cheers!

Bought one on sale for $239.99 from Guitar Center. Ordered Christmas Eve and it arrived today 12-27-23. Same amp. I am 71 and live in 55+ community. More walkers than guitars! The 1/2 watt setting is the main reason I bought this along with a very nice sounding 12 inch actual guitar speaker. You got a smokin' deal, Joe! Please, let us know what you think of it.

Nice, I did get a chance to play on one and I have to say I'm impressed with how they sound. I didn't get to play at gig volume but at guitar store volume, I liked it.

I've had good experiences buying "open-box, condition 1" from MF, thinking of saving 40% on a new "condition 2, blemished" Martin Special GPC electro'coustic. Also good buying open-box from Sweetwater, who usually offer pictures of the unit you're purchasing. Happy deal-shopping, good stuff can be had for bargain prices... sometimes 😊

Nice opening jingle! Some say the Catalyst is better than the Katana.

The Catalyst is a kind of a risky amp in the sense it offers fewer standard tone options. No compression, no eq pedal. No boost 'pedals'. If you like the stock sound, then it's probably easier to use, but if you like to fiddle with eq pedals and so on, then maybe not.

Coincidence. I bought a used Catalyst 100 at Guitar Center yesterday. I got a great price. I had intended to get the Katana but tried this and it sounded so nice I bought it instead. It's in essentially new condition not as new as yours though. 😂

Sadly every time I used one of these models I ran into an issue. I think the katanas are more reliable
