"Would it help the situation if I said you were a very close second?"

I swear Yen could literally rip Geralt in half, teleport him into the mouth of a dragon or turn him into a snail and he would still thank her lol

"I can't say I'm not tempted to intervene...."
*Proceeds to tie Geralt to a bed if he tries to get with them both*

I don't understand why people are still arguing about this. It is up to every player to decide for themselves who they want Geralt to end up with.

Some of us love Yen.
Some of us love Triss.
We all know Gerhalt's one true love,
is Jaskier.

Yeah, sure she'll say "yeah, we can still be friend"... and you'll never see her again.

This is pretty heartwarming to see, because if Geralt refused "the last wish" favour, Yen's reply was extremely bitter, she was really broken-hearted...

I really loved her this answer after I romanced Triss this playthrough. She, as always, makes Geralt feel comfortable by her sarcasm. Even when he doesn't deserve it for being a total ass. Doesn't panic or becomes a crybaby like Triss, even though her heart is breaking inside. What a strong woman, she really impresses me.

I first rooted for Triss, but then when I went through another playthrough and chose to stay with Yen that's where I realized that they both were actually meant for each other.

Just like a woman she didn't give a straight answer.

I picked Yen on my first playthrough. I'm on my second, and I thought about choosing Triss, but when the mages escaped Novigrad and you have the chance to ask her to stay.... I didn't. In the end, I think I'll always choose Yen because she and Geralt just.... fit, you know?

I mean, when you first find Triss in TW3, she blames Geralt for her sucky situation (in a backhanded kind of way), then when she asks about Yen, no matter what he says, she sulks up, very passive/aggressive, "Never mind, I got my answer." Yen would've told him exactly what she was thinking, and she wouldn't have asked a question if she didn't want to know the answer. And practically advertising herself as a mage to get work? (Really, Triss? Did you not see the daily burning pyres?) And when Geralt admonishes her for it, she shrugs it off like he's just overreacting. When Menge dies, and Geralt inquires about a necromancy solution, her response is to criticize Yen saying, "I'm not Yennefer, Geralt, " as though Yen *enjoys* using necromancy. But, as we see so clearly in Skellige, Yen hates it. At Kaer Morhen, if Geralt chooses Yen, Triss gives them both a bitter kind of look when she hugs Ciri. But if Geralt chooses Triss, all Yen does is ask if they'd like a moment alone.

Yen truly behaves like Ciri's mother. I mean, what mother (good mother, let me clarify) wouldn't do whatever it took to find their child and protect them? Did she p*** off the entire Druid circle in Skellige? Yes. Could she have told Ermion that she needed the mask to find Ciri? Yes. Would that have changed anything? Most likely not. She wasn't willing to risk another delay, not with the Wild Hunt involved. After all, we have so many examples of how they just appear out of thin air. The danger was real and the options were work fast, or risk losing her daughter forever. Yen is calculating, and even frigid at times, and yes, in the beginning she was power-hungry. (If your parents sold you for four coppers, wouldn't you want a way to ensure no one could hurt you again?) But we don't see the power-hungry tendencies when she's with Geralt because with him, she has what she's always wanted. In fact, it made her brave enough to break the djinn's spell on them and find out if they were really, truly in love. Again, she doesn't ask a question if she's not prepared to hear the answer and she knew there was every chance that he'd choose Triss once he was free.

I love both characters, especially from a writer's perspective; they're masterfully crafted. But I'll always pick Yen because if Geralt doesn't choose her, she behaves with grieved resignation whereas with Triss, there's always a petulant, petty kind of jealousy simmering just below the surface.

Also, TW2 was a while ago for me, but if Triss was so concerned with helping him find Yen and his memory, why didn't she bring it up in Flotsam when she was talking to Phillipa?

It's dumb because you can get this dialogue even if you romance both. You can literally finish her sidequest, say you love her and then come back in Skelliger and get this dialogue. It's a shame they probably won't ever fix it.

The book did not and did not intend to put Yen and Triss as equals (as partner choices) since the very beginning. Making Triss and Yen equally important (to Geralt) is the result of the game, a media that focuses on YOUR choices. So there's no point for demonizing Triss's character as the writer was to show her personal development through these events, not to make her the perfect bride for YOU.

Same applies to Yen.

The whole #team thing is plain ridiculous. There is never a single consistent person called Geralt, but YOU playing a versatile model. If you are madly in love with those romance dialogues, just say you like Triss or Yen or want either to be with Geralt would suffice. Unless you are helplessly drowning in being a videogame character and has nothing better to do in your life, in which case ignore what I said.

Answer is no. Yennefer and Geralt can't remain friends, because they never were "friends" in the first place. They were always lovers (or at least saw each other that way ever since the moment they met) ;)
