I think in cases like that they just need to lean in. Have her get mad, climb on a picnic bench, milk crate, whatever, yell at him, poke him in the chest and then kiss him. It’s funny, relatable, reinforces the fact that she is human and he is an alien war god. Make it a funny bit that both the audience and the actors can have fun with throughout the movie. It was as much a confused rom/com as it was an action movie anyway.
