Pottinger Mower Breaking Bolts

I wouldn't blame the manufacturer for this repair, but I'd throw a previous owner under the bus for some shoddy repair work.

Gotta say, lately, many of the youtubers I follow have dropped off the radar. Either tired of the high expectations of their followers for little return, their wishes to make their personal life less public, or simply their channel didn't develop as they had hoped.
Personally, I'm happy to see Jacob post whenever he wants, and whatever he wants. I'll take what is offered and be happy. Some turn off comments and I see why at times. As a fellow farmer, I simply enjoy seeing other similar sized operations, how they work, their machinery, and yes, their struggles.
I'll continue to humbly watch though, and learn the odd thing along the way.
Thank you Jacob.

I like how it slowly coasted to a stop. When the PTO was shut off. Looks good!

I really like that ya'll put larger bolts in but threadlocker is your friend. I do like this Pottinger if tightened up after each use. Filling with grass may be OK. Unless wet.

I remember that week and I remember getting soaked to the bone the day you baled that field ! That was a wicked thunder storm that flat out poured on us ! And now we just had the driest October on record, I wonder what the winter will bring us ? Bandit

Jacob check the gearbox input and output shafts for being out off true very carefully, or it will continue to shake the gearbox loose even with a full complement of bolts . Good luck 🤞🤞

Jacob, I suggest you lubricate the profiles on the input shaft every few hours. As the mower floats it is moving those profiles and due to the fact it is under load if it is anyway tight it will break those bolts. Hard to believe but I have proven it over the years myself. Chain oil is good because it is so tacky. Happy farming 🇮🇪.

Yeah, they generally put x number of bolts in there for a reason. Hope you got it sorted now.

Good job repairing that. That would have been a disaster for me. Somehow you always get the job done.

It's always something with equipment I have been there before

I am pretty sure there should be another part between the gearbox and the cowl where the driveshaft runs through. It was something like a plastic split collar if I remember right.
