The Chartbusters – Why …1964
By 1964 the Beatles influence on pop music was already undeniable. It seems that there were countless bands in the mid-60s that were influenced by the Fab Four style and The Chartbusters were definitely one of them. The Chartbusters were from Washington D.C, and were active from 1964-1967 releasing eight singles. The group was a popular live band and performed shows with many of the stars of the day, including The Animals, The Four Seasons, Johnny Rivers, The Lovin' Spoonful, Peter and Gordon, Chuck Berry and many others. …Info source, wikipedia

Great sounding song and the Chartbusters must have been a good band to have appeared with the Four Seasons and many others of the day.

Snappy guitar solo ! Many bands tried emulating the sound of The Beatles. ( the Knickerbockers come to mind). That would work for a little while, but a band needed their own identity to make it.
There was a sea of garage bands.
A good original record with a unique sound was paramount in having any hope for a record to get radio play and of coarse, it didn't hurt to have a little lady luck on your side.
These guys opened for many great headliners. That had to have been thrilling for a garage band.
These guys were from D.C.
Lyndon B Johnson cranked this tune in the Oval Office.
