One person killed, one injured in plane crash at Fallbrook nursery

The investigation is continuing Sunday into the crash of a single-engine, vintage military-style plane that killed the passenger and left the pilot critically injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were sending investigators to the crash site, which was located less than a mile south of the county-owned Fallbrook Airpark.

The crash occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Altman Plants nursery, 2575 Olive Hill Road, Capt. John Choi of the North County Fire Protection District said.

Okay, the T-28 is NOT a "World War II style" aircraft. It is a modern tricycle landing gear primary flight training aircraft first flown in 1949, four years AFTER WWII, designed to replace the T-6 Texan, a much older primary flight training aircraft that was an actual "World War II style" aircraft. It is remarkable how much today's "journalists" in the American news media deign doing even the most minimum research to get their stories even close to being somewhat accurate. Is it normal to ignore learning a little bit about a subject matter before reporting on it? Is this what is being taught in journalism schools in today's universities? It is no wonder American journalism has lost as much credibility as it has!

I'm sorry for the injured person, the one who lost their life and their friends and family. They got so close to the airport - what a shame. Is it past time to tighten up requirements for "general avions" pilot's licenses?

Last night there were crafts flying over my apartment for hours back and forth. Not sure if they are drones or what but it was constant. And every night there's crafts flying over this residential neighborhood like they are surveillance or something. Is this happening every where?
