Pruning Watermelon Plants For Faster & Bigger PRODUCTION #watermelon #greentgarden

This is how to prune watermelon plants to get a Faster production , save space ,. bigger watermelon, better airflow and overall a healthier plant.

Pruning -
Pruning out 2 to 3 side shoots that's located between the leafs and the main stem. also remove 3 to 4 Leaf at the base..

Fertilizer -
Make sure to add fertilizer and keep reapplying every 2 weeks ( 10.- 10 - 10 )

Watering -
Water every 1 to 2 days either in the morning or in the afternoon..

Right now I am using garden tone, fertilizer and garden lime and it works pretty good..

I'm in Zone 10b San Diego, CA. I believe I still have a long growing season here. Do you think I can get away with not prunning my Crimson Sweet watermelon plants to get more fruit? Or how many vines and fruits per plant should I limit to? I use Garden Tone and Alaska Fish Fertilizer. What other Organic Liquid Fertilizer do you recomend if don't prune?

I cut off the tip of a sugar baby watermelon and it stopped growing, then I cut off side shoots and extra leaves to a crimson sweet and lost it too. Right now I have a crimson sweet barely hanging on but I can tell it’s not going to make it. Any advice would be appreciated. Zone 6A TIA.

The screw on your pruner might be loose... try to tighten the screw and then see if it cuts better...
