Dang they captured a BMW perfectly with a permanently open hood for maintenance.

I don't get how MBX could do it better with a 2 dollar car.

I bought 2 Mini GTs instead. Quality on those hasn't failed me yet!

Mattel should create a new slogan for Red Line Collection "RLC: We don't expect you to open it, so don't expect us to care."

I’ve never been into/gotten hotwheels, but I feel like just making it a magnetic connection would simply solve this problem lol

even their hero shot on the website shows the hood not fully closed. I dont think they know how to fix it.

Better is not good enough. At 30k count and still $25 plus shipping its inexcusable...didnt bother getting this. Not gonna pay such a premium price knowing there is still a QC issue...

As a kid I was dying to get those type of cars that have interactive doors.

I'ma be honest, even though I absolutely adore hotwheels, I strongly believe that this whole "RLC" thing is stupid, time consuming, and expensive. I just never understood the hype for hot wheels rlc. Especially when there's always little inconsistencies in every toy. For an example, like how they use the same exact wheels from their premium line (great line, but still), The tire's are never accurate to their real life from, the car sizes don't make a lick of sense (how is a BMW going to be longer than a tow truck?), and it's almost impossible to get or find (thank the scalpers for that). Like why go through all that trouble, when you could just buy an auto world car, a greenlight, or a M2 machine from your local Walmart or hobby lobby. They are farrr cheaper (I found mine's for 6 USD while my grandparents found theirs for 10usd), some of them actually have opening doors (mostly M2 machines), the wheels are actually accurate, and best of all, the car sizes are actually accurate to their real life counter parts. My only problem with them is that the tires are a bit wobbly. But other than that, they are 100% worth it. So pretty much when you buy a hotwheels RLC, you purely paying for the name and nothing else.

the problem goes away over time, you just have to wear down the metal by opening & closing it a lot, they probably didn’t factor in the dimensions for the metal with paint on it

They knew it would require maintenance within warranty 🤷‍♂️

I would be upset. That is not RLC quality I would expect at that price point. 🤨
