I took the metal screens off both of these and measured the outside woofer foam surround dimension. The T9 is only about 1/4" larger. Likely it's 10 watts more per driver vs D9. The ported and larger enclosure will allow for more bass to be present. Hopefully one day W-King with release a larger partybox version to compete with the JBL 310 or even the 1000. I have one JBL 1000 and I'm going to use 2 T9s for the stereo field like monitors. The 1000 will be the big boy out front. The T9 20 watt increase only amounts to about 6db of loudness increase. That's louder but not nearly loud enough for outdoors. The wide open outdoors simply swallows up dbs and watts like Godzilla.

Alex I can def tell that the t9 is way deeper bass than d9 man 4 can't come fast enough wife just texted she brought the speaker inside told her this mornin when they leave it at door grab it cuz it can't get all wet... fn raining today in mn!!! As far as Bass goes.. The D9 Updated Firmware holds it's own. If you want louder, more rich clarity.. spend a Lil more for T9. Both are Amazing 👏

In your opinion and for the least amount of investment, what's the best outdoor speaker (can be corded because I have a power station) that I should pair with my single JBL 1000? I also use wires so doesn't need to pair remotely. I've looked at the 100, 200 & 310 and obviously the WKings however they are probably not loud enough for an outdoor concert. One day I'll get 2 JBL 1000s but for now I'm using 2 D9s and the 1000 together. Using the D9s more as stereo stage monitors. Not sure it's worth upgrading to the T9s just for 40 watts more which is 13dbs more for $200. A pair for $350 to $500 each for JBLs I might as well get one more 1000.

I tested the modes again on the T9 and it seems like treble is not lost or muffled in bass (indoor) mode vs outdoor mode. However the overall sounds gets harsh in the outdoor mode. It wasn't pleasant to listen to at any volume. The default indoor mode is the only mode that sounds good IMO. A truly good hi fi speaker sounds great at all volumes and/or modes. Still it's a great deal if you can get one around $100. The bass has been improved but the tweeter is the same I think or not been improved. That's where they should focus next. Listener fatigue happens when the sound is harsh or unpleasant. It might sound better in TWS. 2 full range drivers (L/R) should not share the same cavity while playing in stereo or they compete against each other for the same air flow. Not much stereo anyway with the drivers too close together on a single speaker. Does it play 2 channels as a single speaker? Not sure but I'd assume so.

Alex.... I just got email back from w king look out for their x10 speaker next week then d10 few weeks later followed few months later by waterproof more rugged t9

I have 2 D-8s and love them but my new T9 is a much better speaker. Sounds really impressive for the price.
