PIRELLI TROFEO R VS MICHELIN PS4 S comparison lap on MAGNY COURS GP TRACK

Here is a very interesting video compare!

Same day same driver same car!
I compare here my best lap on MAGNY COURS GP track between
PIRELLI TROFEO R: 1MIN54.437
MICHELIN PS4S: 1MIN56.065

To be 100% fair, the condition on the afternoon (when i installed the michelin) was a bit better grip and warmer 12°c vs 6.5°C in the morning with the pirelli, BUT..... the michelin was not fresh as the pirelli as they get already 120laps on circuit de bresse track day before :-)

So the difference on this track is 2/2,2sec between semi slick and the fantastic PS4S, which is quiet light!!
Especially considering that the trope R were in side 245 front 295 rear and 235 front 265 rear for the michelin...

Let's decide what is your choice :-)))

PS4 S did very well! Good tire. I was thinking it will be a bigger gap.

I’m on my second set of PS4S 👍. Unless you’re tracking it a lot, the PS4S are the best tire that I’m aware of...

So a super sticky track focused tyre is slightly quicker than a high performance road tyre designed for wet and dry roads (PS4s)

Sticky tires make more differences with high power and high downforce cars.
But 2 secs in this track is already a lot.

Sebastian, in your opinion does it makes sense to have PS4S in the same size 245/295, would it be better or stock size is good as it is? I assume you were in your 718MR this day? Thinking of new tires for my 718GTS...🙈

Right after around the 1 minute mark the gap becomes extremely obvious even on my tiny phone screen. Such is the difference in laptime between ane excellent max performance tyre and an extreme performance road legal semi slick.
