Zipper POV

The Zipper is one of the most popular fair rides in the world. Manufactured by Chance Rides, The Zipper will continuously flip you while you sit in a padded cage that can seat 2 to 3 people. There is a strict "no single riders" policy because the forces of the ride can make a single rider dangerously slip out from underneath the lap bar connected to the door. This particular Zipper is currently owned by Lynam's Amusements.

One thing that makes this ride terrifying is that you never know when it will start. It has no slow build-up or anything. It just suddenly starts and catches you off-guard. Oh, and don't go on with a phone or loose change. Anything loosely attached to you will fly around inside the cage.

The thing about this ride is that when you finally have the courage to get on you have to wait for other people to get on and you have time to think about it and its awful

This shows like half of how scary the zipper is, the scariest part to me is constantly getting launched and tossed in and out of your seat every time the cage flips and thinking you’re going to fly out because of how much strength you use to hold onto the handles. Honestly overall a fun ride, it’s one of my favourites! 11/10 would ride again ! :)

I was at a fair and i went on this ride. The operator took a bolt out, talked to another worker. My friend asked him if it was safe. He said, "i dont know".

In the 80s it was common that the person who operated it would actually flip the cages like crazy by hand and then start it and also do so when finished before opening a cage. And they'd let the Zipper run for like 7 minutes! No shit! There was vomit smell allover around the Zipper back then. Haha.

The scariest part of this ride for me was when your cart/cage is at the right place so when the thing is vertical but becoming horizontal and you’re at the top of the thing you have a long fall, and can feel the force of gravity and stuff 😭

The best thing about zippers is that theyre all like 25 years old, dirty as hell, no seatbelts, and are moved constantly from town to town. You really dont know if youre gonna get out of there unharmed.

I went on the zipper and it literally hurt. You get tossed around inside and have to try to keep yourself in the seat. I was flying around in the cage.

When I was a child this ride looked reaaallyyy intimidating, but when I became a teenager and grew the nads to get on... 🥺 Most AMAZING experience ever bro! My past homie and I kept getting on to beat our top flip. We flipped 7 times in one pivot. Beautiful ride nonetheless. It looks scary but it's really fun. Dont worry about dying... That only happens once. So go live!
