DJI Mavic Pro Low Noise Propellers Comparison review | RPM - Noise - Flight Time

finally received the mavic pro low noise propellers from DJI after 1.5 month of wait. I've decided to do some comparison test between the low noise and original propellers. RPM, Noise and flight duration will be the subjects of the comparison test.

One of the best comparison videos of the different propellers. Short simple and to the point. And you weight them. Thumbs up for not making it a tour around the world.

Raked wing/propeller tip reduce the vortex produced by the tip and thus reduce the drag produced by the vortexes. It is a design becoming common in aviation. Go look at the wingtips of B767-400 vs the rest of B767 family, or B777-300ER/B777-200LR/B777F vs the rest of B777 family. B787's wing is an even more perfected version but not really suitable for props.

The low noise blades have a greater pitch; so they'll push more air downwards per RPM. More air pushed down = greater upwards push. The new props are definitely thinner/more delicate - so if your flights involve regular arguments with small twigs etc you'll need to have some stand bys ready. I doubt I'll buy a second set of the new props since the Pro is fairly quiet anyway - especially compared to the Air...

Probably a more efficient airfoil on the prop. Provides equivalent lift at a lower speed.

Bigger paddle for the lower pitched noise. Bigger paddle generates same thrust at lower RPM.

The slower RPM is caused because like a plane if you have more wind area the less speed you need to make it fly because more area pulls more air than less area (by pulling I meant to say the sustentation effect) is an aerodynamic concept. The new propellers have more area, they are wider and longer than the originals.

I thought the side by side sound comparison was gonna turn into a vaporwave remix for a second

I find the quiet blades hover at 700 rpm less. Noise with props/rotors = inefficiency for most situations. Impressive to knock off 700 rpm, or 13%. It would be curious to get thrust comparisons at various rpms along with amp draw

Nice channel! I also think it's due to the larger surface area and steeper angle of the blade = more thrust. I just saw you're using an S8 as your device - do you ever have any random disconnects? Have been fighting with those since I got my Mavic a few days ago. Also, my phone is draining the controller rather fast, which is annoying..

Based on your video I think the low noise is losing hovering stability.
