Out with whittier watch, We were trying to get to the fire station when the NASA guard stopped us. Firefighter was nice enough to show us to the back gate of the trail that were looking for. We ended up at the fire station just looking around # NASA #security #sgv news first

Time again to remind folks that guards, security, & law enforcement aren't "afraid of cameras" or "don't want you when one stands near an exit entry point, and focuses their video attention at an actual bottleneck of people, where security becomes a priority.

In other words, its not the camera, it's the abnormal actions by the person holding the camera. Yea, it might be technically "legal", but by no means, normal. THAT's what gets their attention....then again, that's goal here, isn't provoke confrontation and get it on tape. Then later falsely claim they're scared of a little camera. Might work for the minions that follow, but not to the rationally minded folk.

Cannot imagine era 1970s NASA not allowing cameras on campus...I went to Nasa rd 1 in Clearlake for years and never had a camera even looked at. Cant blame 911 for FEAR of pictures, this has become security industry insecurity.

I lived next door to JPL at Hathaway-Sycamores June 9, 1987 to September 18, 1988. I broke out of the group home, went down the forestry service road, around the back of the fire station, and walked right into JPL because there was no fence back there in 1987....I walked right into the building, looked around a while, then went back to the group home. Front side of the boys home is at the top end of El Nido Dr.
