I cannot believe I am just now learning about Peter Sinfield's passing. What a monumental loss. He influenced a portion of my work, in both quality of content & lyrical ambition. I would have given anything to tell him what his body of work, in both other bands and his solo work, meant to me. In fact, I did. I attempted to email him and then contact others in charge of the DGM site, as well as his own. I hope he knows this in spirit. From one word wielder to another, Mr. Sinfield. Fitting video, by the way. What a sound tribute to one of the greats.

My personal favorite is the lyric for 'Islands'. In its musical setting, it is sublime. As a teenager, Pete's role in King Crimson intrigued me. He was a kind of creative ghost. His was a very 'mysterious' role. Can we name another band, who at the time, had a 'rover' of sorts, who held such impact on a group's creative face and force from behind the scenes? He was and still is an inspiration to me.

I first became aware of peter with his collaboration with RobertFripp. I purchased Still when first released and have counted it amongst one of my absolute favorites. peter was a man I would liked to have met, I am sure that I would have enjoyed a cup of tea and a spirited discussion with him. Thanks for the tribute!

Nice tribute, Mr. bicyclelegs. You beat everyone in our community to the punch on this one. The great thing about Mr. Sinfield’s lyrics was their uniqueness. A definite unknown musical maven to the general public, thanks for shining a light on his passing.

R.I.P., Mr. Peter Sinfield and thanks for all your contributions to the music industry.

I bought the «Still» album in the seventies and have always loved it. So much that I in 2021 bought an another copy of the vinyl album and gave it to a teacher collegaue to me who recently had bought a new turntable. A highly recommended album to listen to!

Enjoyed this tribute. Familiar with the KC and ELP material, less so the solo album ("Still") - you've inspired me to check it out!

Didn't know about this very sad news, A true great in the history of Prog Rock. Even some of his pop song lyrics had a poetic quality to them. Still was a great album, totally agree with you about The Sea Goat. I Think he had something to do with writing the now evergreen Christmas song, I Believed in Father Christmas by Greg Lake. He also produced an Album for the Italian prog rock band PFM, Photos of Ghosts I think, which was also a pretty decent album at the time. King Crimson's light show was legendary back in the day, only Floyd could compete.
RIP Pete, thanks for the memory.

Definitivamente Peter fue un compositor extraordinario, en lo personal, me agrada mucho en su etapa con KC. Y pocos como él para tratar los temas con mucha profundidad!

Mr. Sinfield was also the produce of Roxy Music's first album. I have his solo album on CD, the name is "Stillusion" and Pete wrote a full page of liner notes in October 1993 which ends with "Travel in peace and may your god go with you." Appropriate.

When I was a teenager, I got his solo album "Still." I played it constantly in my youth!
