What if you were to plot data points of “crop yield” against “amount of water used for cultivation” which you control. But then you wanted to figure out an approximate for how much water you’d need to use to reach a certain yield (let’s say it was a target you needed to meet). Could an x on y regression line be used in this case even with random on non-random?
This is for real-life use’s sake, I assume it would never come up in an exam.

Surely you could find a non random variable with a random one, if the non random variable was continuous
