I hate that shadow state. Something INCREDIBLY minor could happen, (ĺike an argument) but I will cry in my room for hours, forgetting what I was crying about in the first place. Its so painful, every bad thing that has ever happened to me ever just hits me all at once like a tsunami and I can't stop it. It just keeps coming. One second my brain is thinking, my sister makes me so angry, I wish she would just shut up, and then straight to, nan is dead, my dogs are dead, my parents are divorced, my friends are toxic, I hate myself, etc. I don't get enough time to process my emotions, it just keeps coming and coming, leading to an unavoidable mental breakdown. This happens a lot. I really hope your advice will help.

Getting stuck in negative loop is very normal for INFPs

Choose the path which leads to PEACE, HARMONY, and TRUTH

Kill negative thoughts as soon as they appear

thank you, Im starting to improve myself..I've been INFP-T since I was young and never get out of it until this year I felt like I should start facing the reality positively than hiding on my comfort zones, I'm starting to try new things that I never done before and I feel so much better!

Today I was working in a very busy kitchen as a cook (TERRIBLE JOB FOR INFP IMO), and I just thought of all of the other jobs I can go for soon to get out of this situation. Just the thought of brainstorming these made me feel better in that moment. Whatever situation you feel stuck in, there is a way out.

You can even try meditative exercises like yoga or meditation. These exercises help you transition from “thinking” to “feeling” if that makes sense. Focus on sensations or thoughts that may be disturbing you and drown out that feeling with consciousness. The feeling _should_ go away. Granted this may not immediately work the first time if you’re just getting started, but that’s fine — you just have to be patient. See ya

As an Infp, I’ve been trying for a solid month to improve my mental health and not only that but to accept myself too. I was constantly binging self help guides and drowning my ears with meditation but none of it worked, why? Because I was too stuck in the negative thought pattern of the fear that nothing would change and I’d be sad forever, I was still so stuck in my own head. But this-this is what helped me. What I try to do when I'm in the shadow state is think about how it could have gone worse, but it's not always easy

Sometimes I get in a loop of overdoing and procrastinating. "You could be doing something useful with your time" I think, but then I end up burnt out from studying which causes me to feel lazy but then things that I enjoy feel like a waste of time, when I could be making better use of that time studying. Then I can't rest properly because of that, because I'm too tired to study any more when i have been studying for hours. I can't properly get my energy back if I can't enjoy the rest break simply doing things that make me happy.
Exams suck.

Tries to do just that. Gets interrupted. Doesn't wanna do it anymore, and would rather not ask the interuptee to stop as it might sound rude.
