look subban has consistently been a great player, but shit like this where you gotta think he should get benched. no one likes playing with "that guy" on their team; the one who tries to do too much or thinks that they don't need to pass it. i played with plenty of kids like that and they did it until the coach either benched or suspended them for a game.

Wow how do does anyone blame Subban for this goal. Yes he gives away the puck but its a 3 on 3 going the other way. Pacioretty decided not to cover anyone on the backcheck. You can't blame Subban for trying to make a play. And then to have him on the bench in the last 2 minutes is just terrible terrible coaching. How Therrien still has his job is beyond me but as a Leafs fan I find this entire Habs season hilarious.

Why is this on Subban? He is trying to make something happen. Unlike Pacioretty, who despite getting back and making it a 3 on 3 situation, decided to take the play off. This is more on Pacioretty not back checking than Subban's turnover.

Player Subban, lost the puck seconds before he hit the ice, yes it was a bad call from Subban. Lets remember he tried and he did take a risk. Now what if he never hit the ice or lost the puck and a goal was scored.... yeah we wouldn't be here bitching about him. And what if the the game was 0-5 for either team, we wouldn't be talking about neither. It was just a bad call at the worst time, but he tried.
I would think, since Price is out, problems in the dressing room have emerged. By next season, big changes need to be done.

It's a high risk low, percentage play, but if he doesn't lose an edge then the Avs get, at best, a 3 on 4. If Pacioretty doesn't blow his coverage the Avs get a 3 on 3. Therrien should not be throwing PK under the bus for this except Therrien has pathologized any kind of offensive-minded risk taking. Creativity? Dare? Panache? Initiative? Forget it, it's Therrien hockey for or the highway.


The Therrien low risk, low reward, dump it out, dump it in, north-south grinding system is OK except for two things. (1) The system stifles the development of young offensive players like Subban and Galchenyuk because any kind of risk taking is liable to to discipline. In Therrien's 4 season tenure, only one offensive prospect (Gallagher) has transitioned into a steady producer. And (2) It only works if you have Price (and maybe Lundqvist) in goal.  Without goaltending in the percentile the Canadiens, can't defend consistently and, with it's stifled attackers, can't score consistently.


The Therrien MO is to create automatons that insulate the best goalie in the world and then hope you score a couple of goals and you win the game 2-1. Brilliant.

Shame how subban gets treated ... I think we all know why but pacioretty also has some accountability here and ... we hear nothing about it. I absolutely despise Montreal but p.k subban has been a bright spot on a bad team and people just can't wait to jump on him. Pathetic...
