They make an 18 string guitar. Its like a 12 string but has 6 groups of 3 strings. You can also tune the three strings on each string to give a chorus effect by slighty flattening one string, and slightly raising the other string, or you could come up with your own tuning, tuning the strings like 2 or 3 different variations of a tuning on one neck. Thats an old mandolin trick from 19 century classical mandolin players.

I remember Agile guitars were making 8, 9, and 10 string guitars back in like 2008 man.. 10 string with a 30" scale. Way before Ibanez even made them. And they were all affordable with cool paint schemes.

I play 2 10 strings fairly regularly. But for one of them it is tuned so that the bottom 4 are standard bass (of course you have to set them up and intonate them properly)

I gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised at how simple the electronics are! This may mostly be a bass thing, but the 5+ knobs and 2+ switches configurations are exhausting.

The stupid thing is not this 9-string guitar, what is stupid (I'm not saying that for you in particular, but for guitarists in general) is to think within our own limits and to consider that what we have no use for this, that we don't understand, is stupid, without thinking that there is a niche of musicians who have a real use for these instruments (for something other than boring djent...).

I think the brand is Conklin that makes some ridiculous basses. 10s also made a crazy guitar for Stevie T. This 9 string neck might actually be thicker than my ltd b206sm bass which also has 2 truss rods.
