The thing to say about Rosemary's Baby is that it is no Exorcist. It is an excellent novel of psychological horror and you will find basically no action or jump scares in it.. Therefore it is not a book for everybody. Some people hate it though it's a masterpiece. It's a treat for the discerning reader.
The ending points to the sequel Ira Levin wrote: Son Of Rosemary. Haven't read it yet so I can't add anything here.

Yes, I've been mentioning Ira Levin's This Perfect Day all over the place. That is Ira Levin's unsung masterpiece of pure science-fiction. I invited Bridger of The Library Ladder to made a video on Ira Levin, but though he agreed that the film adaptations of his book were good, he hadn't read all the books and didn't know This Perfect Day. We might get a video in the future.

Ira Levin wrote little, but wrote well. He became famous with a thriller, A Kiss Before Dying, immediately adapted into a film like almost all his books. Rosemary, Sliver, The Stepford Wives, The Boys From Brazil, etc.. Except This Perfect Day.
An excellent murder play of his, Deathtrap was adapted to the screen starring Christopher Reeves and Michael Caine.
So yes, Thanks you Ira of Youtube for giving the other Ira a well deserved shout out.

My favourite Ira Levin book is The Boys From Brazil c1976. Horror and SF. Made into a popular film of the same name in 1978. I think you'll love it Ira.

The SF categorization is kind of weird, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I always thought the movie's ending was hilarious, but you've piqued my curiosity to check out Ira Levin.

I'm no expert, but for classic horror, I'm fond of Poe and Lovecraft (warning -- definitely not PC). I've enjoyed some of Robert Howard's (of Conan fame) horror stories as well. Have a nice weekend!

I watched Polański’s movie many years ago and thought it’s atmosphere of incoming inevitably and dread was excellent. But it’s been a while. The book sounds really interesting. I would guess, as it’s most often the case, it’s better than the movie.

Modern Sci-Fi horror? "Try The Scourge Between Stars" by Ness Brown.
Short story? "In the Penal Colony" by Franz Kafka.
