In this episode we learn about the animal group called reptiles which include snakes, crocodiles, alligators, tortoises and many more!
Watch out - there’s reptiles about! Scaly skin
Toothy grin
Watch out - watch out!
Watch out - there’s reptiles about! Snakes that smile
Crocodiles
Watch out for those strange reptiles!
They’ve all got back bones (so we call them vertebrates) And dry skin (with either scales or bony plates)
They all can lay eggs (and they mostly have soft shells) Have cold blood (so they have to heat themselves)
They kind of look like dinosaurs
Or dragons long ago
Now, can you name some more reptiles I wonder, do you know?
This reptile has a hard shell
It can live to be VERY old
And it’s known for being kinda slow - Do you know what it is?
Tortoise!
This reptile is the largest snake in the world
It doesn’t have poison but it hugs its prey tight And lives in South America.
Any idea?
Anaconda!

This reptile can change colour
To match its background
And its eyes don’t work together - It looks everywhere at once!
What reptile is this? Chameleon!
This reptile is smaller than a crocodile And only lives in North America
They’re slow on land but fast in the water! What’s it called?
American Alligator!
