How to tune airplanes in INAV?

preview_player
Показать описание
If you want to have a great flying airplane, you have to tune it. Both rates and PID controllers. Luckily, in INAV it’s a super simple process that takes only a few minutes and can be done with only one LiPo battery. In this video let’s take a look at all the elements of the tuning process:

Hardware setup
Reflex
Center of Gravity
Autotrim
Autotune
Final updates I like to make to all my airplanes

And, like always, happy flying!

Yayyy another tuning video, i’ve been trying for months and months now to help people on fb with understanding pid tuning and other settings, i’m glad to see someone else releasing information on how to do it propperly, especially one of my fave youtubers on my favourite firmware ;) 🎉

I have to ask Pavel, is there a reason to have auto trim on a switch rather than have it always enabled? Will this change the tuning process?

Thanks a million... would be good to have something up to date on how to use Auto Level Trim mode correctly, can't seem to find anything.

Nice video ! Just one question … why do we need to manually save the settings for Autotune ?
In my OSD i always see the “settings saved” message automatically after landing in the flight summary screen.
(I have continuous trim aircraft setting on)

Do i still need to manually save anything by stick commands ?

Thx,
Florin

Thanks for your great assistance for beginners! I didn't understand well how to use the autotrim, when flying acro, do you have to push or pull the stick to maintain the altitude before to switch autotrim then wait 2 seconds and release the stick? what is the proper sequence?
I am also confused with acro mode, as it is not supposed to act on pitch axis to maintain altitude...when I first trim a new model to fly strait on manual mode, then switch to acro mode, then, the model pitch down...what did I miss?

I'll probably wait for iNav8 before manually tuning PID.

I recall you suggested to increase I gains before the maiden. I did and it worked but wondering if you usually reduce it back to the "profile 1 default" values after

This is good information. Thank you for working hard to educate.
A bit of opinionated feedback. Not enjoying the quick changing text trend that's going around. If you're set on using it, by all means, but I'll probably go audio only in that case.

Thanks. I heard nothing about yaw in the autotune procedure. What should we do to get the best yaw tune for planes with a rudder? Fly alternating wings level circles?

Thank you for this! I keep forgetting to run these two adaptations on my plane. One thing to note, is it preferred to do all this on a day with minimal wind?

Good Job Pavel!
Thx for that!
One Question: You said, you DONT have to save the Autotrim, ist automatically.
But, do i really have to save the Autotune manually? Really?
Because, after Autotune and landing, the OSD said: "Settings saved" (same as Autotrim).
Thanks, happy flyin!

Great explanation as always: thank you. Is it necessary to land and save after the auto-trim, or can you do the Auto-Tune on the same flight and then save?

Hi, can you possibly explain to me why half the servos don't work in my FC Matek? It reads them on INAV but they don't work
